Creamy Mashed Potatoes
Mashed potatoes are loved by all! These Creamy Mashed Potatoes have all the good stuff in them! They're buttery, comforting, and delicious! Mashed potatoes are the perfect side dish for your dinner, and they don't take a ton of time to make! Plus, nothing compares to real mashed potatoes, they are an absolute classic! I like mine with a little bit of peel and chunk left in them to give the dish more texture!
Ingredients
- 2 lbs baby red potatoes - washed and scrubbed partially peeled, and diced
- ½ cup half and half
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar
- 1 tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp oregano
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
Optional garnishes:
- green onion
Instructions
- In a large pot of salted water, boil potatoes for 10 minutes, until fork tender
- Drain potatoes, add them back to the pot, and move to a cool burner
- Shake the pot around a bit to let off some of that excess steam, mash potatoes with a masher to get your desired consistency
- Slowly pour in half and half, and stir to combine
- Add in all other ingredients, mix well, and serve Creamy Mashed Potatoes with green onion if desired!
