Mushroom Swiss Pork Chop
I'm obsessed with anything Mushroom and Swiss! Plus, I love a properly cooked pork chop! I made this Mushroom Swiss Pork Chop using my ceramic pan from Xtrema! It was great because I was able to get a nice sear on the stove and then finish it off in the oven! If you don't have a good oven safe skillet, you should definitely check out Xtrema's products! These chops were so creamy, cheesy, shroomy - delicious! I loved how the green beans brought some freshness to this rich, tasty dish!
Equipment

Ingredients
For the pork chops:
- 4 boneless pork chops thick cut
- 4 slices deli swiss cheese
- ¼ cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp flour
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp panko breadcrumbs
- 1 ¼ tsp salt
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp black pepper
For the green beans and creamy mushroom sauce:
- 1 lb French green beans ends trimmed
- 8 oz white mushrooms sliced
- 4 garlic cloves minced
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp onion powder
Optional garnishes:
- parmesan freshly shredded cheese
- parsley minced
Instructions
To make the pork chops:
- Preheat oven to 400 ℉. Next, pat pork chops dry with a paper towel on both sides.
- In a shallow dish, whisk flour, panko, and pork chop seasonings until combined. Toss pork chops in the mixture until all of them are evenly coated.
- In an oven safe skillet, heat oil on medium-high. When oil is shimmering, add pork chops to the pan and sear for 2 minutes per side.
- When pork chops have a nice golden crust on both sides, dump beef broth into the skillet and bake for 10 minutes.
- Now let's get started on the green beans and mushroom sauce!
To make the green beans and creamy mushroom sauce:
- In a separate large skillet, melt butter on medium, then add green beans, garlic, mushrooms, and the rest of the seasonings to the pan.
- Sauté until green beans and mushrooms are tender, stirring occasionally, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream, turn to low, cover and simmer for 5 minutes more.
- Remove from heat, cover, and set aside to keep warm until ready to use.
To make the Mushroom Swiss Pork Chop:
- After the pork chops have baked for the 10 minutes, temp them. By now they should be at or close to 145 ℉.
- Cover with swiss cheese and bake 5 minutes more, then broil on high for 1-2 minutes until cheese is melty!
- Serve pork chops over a bed of green beans and drizzle the creamy mushroom sauce all over!
- Garnish with fresh parsley and parmesan, if desired! Enjoy!
