Chinese Chicken and Broccoli

Every once in a while, my husband and I get a hankering for Chinese food! This time, I decided to make it at home! This Chinese Chicken and Broccoli was kinda sweet, kinda savory, crunchy, and packed with flavor! It was also super easy and delicious! Ready in 30 minutes or less, this is a great weekday meal for the whole family to enjoy! And the best part about making Asian recipes at home is you buy one bottle of sesame oil or oyster sauce, and you have those same ingredients for the next time you decide to recreate this cuisine!
What ingredients do I need for the sauce?
Chicken Broth
Soy Sauce
Oyster Sauce
Flour
Brown Sugar
Ground Ginger
Crushed Red Pepper
What ingredients do I need for the chicken and broccoli?
Chicken Breast
Broccoli
Rice
Onion
Garlic
Sesame Oil
Salt
Black Pepper
Optional garnishes:
Sesame Seeds
How do I make the sauce?
Add all sauce ingredients to a medium sized bowl and whisk until combined. Set aside until ready to use.

How do I make the Chinese chicken and broccoli?
Prepare rice to package instructions, set aside until ready to use. Season the chicken with salt and pepper on both sides, rub the seasonings in with your hands.

In a large skillet, heat oil on medium heat. When shimmering, add the chicken in a single layer. Allow chicken to cook for 3 minutes without disturbing it. With a tong, flip and cook 3 minutes more. When chicken is golden brown, remove to a plate and cover with foil until ready to use.

Pour the sauce into the pan and add in all other ingredients besides rice and garnishes. Turn heat to medium-high. Cover and cook about 5 minutes, until broccoli is tender.

Add chicken back to the skillet to warm, give everything a good stir and serve over rice!

Garnish Chinese Chicken and Broccoli with sesame seeds, if desired. Enjoy!

Ingredients
For the Sauce:
- ยพ cup chicken broth
- ยผ cup soy sauce
- 1 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 tbsp flour
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- ยผ tsp crushed red pepper

- 1 ยฝ lbs chicken breast fat trimmed and cut into tenders
- 2 ยฝ cups broccoli cut into bite sized pieces
- 2 cups rice cooked to package instructions
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- Half of a yellow onion sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- ยผ tsp salt
- ยผ tsp black pepper
Optional garnishes:
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
To make the sauce:
