Why are drumsticks so loved?
Chicken drumsticks, aka chicken legs, feature some dark meat – which means they have more of a protein called myoglobin. This protein makes them have a richer, juicer flavor than white meat alone! The crispy skin gives texture and color, and they’re super fun to eat! Cooking meat on the bone also enhances the flavor by retaining the moisture!
What ingredients do I need to make these?
Chicken Drumsticks
BBQ Sauce
Grapeseed Oil
Salt
Garlic Powder
Italian Seasoning
Black Pepper
Onion Powder
Paprika
Chili Powder
Optional garnishes:
Green Onion
Parmesan
How do I make them?
Preheat oven to 400 F and line a large baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup. In a large bowl, whisk together all spices and oil. Toss drumsticks in oil and spices, using your hands to ensure full coverage. Now bake them!
Remove drumsticks and with a silicone brush, brush liberally with the BBQ sauce. Bake again.
Take the drummies out, flip, then brush with BBQ sauce again and bake some more!
Remove, and flip again. Brush, then broil on high for a few minutes.
Take them out and flip one more time! Broil on high a few minutes more.
Finally, garnish with green onion and parmesan cheese, if desired! Enjoy!
