Stromboli

Stromboli that's been cut with parmesan and parsley garnished on the top, sitting on a cutting board

Last updated on January 19th, 2026

This was my first time making Stromboli and it was SO amazing! The smell of the dough baking gave me fair vibes! It just smelled like that amazing funnel cake smell throughout the house for hours! I used Snake River Farms Wagyu Ground Beef which obviously enhanced the flavor by a million percent! The melty mozzarella in there, the zesty pepperoni, all those fresh veggies! It was to die for! It wasn’t too difficult to make, and it was a huge hit with the family!

What ingredients do I need to make this Stromboli?

Snake River Farms Wagyu Ground Beef Brick Pack
Dough Ball
Pizza Sauce
Fresh Mozzarella
Pepperoni
Onion
Green Pepper
White Mushrooms
Garlic
Parmesan Cheese
Butter
Flour
Olive Oil
Salt
Basil
Italian Seasoning
Black Pepper

Optional garnishes:

Parmesan
Parsley

How do I make it?

To make the dough:

In a large bowl, add olive oil and dough ball. Toss the ball around to coat, then cover with a damp towel for an hour.

Once your dough is ready, carefully stretch it and pull it to about the length of your baking sheet. Use your fingers to push down and thin the dough as you spread it. Preheat oven to 375 F.

To make the filling:

In a large skillet on medium heat, melt butter. Add onion, mushroom, and green pepper, cook for a few minutes, stirring occasionally. Next, add the garlic and cook until fragrant. Stir in half of the salt and the rest of the seasonings. Transfer to a bowl covered with foil until ready to use.

In that same skillet on medium heat, add wagyu ground beef and sprinkle in the rest of the salt. Break up the ground beef with a spatula as it cooks and cook until no longer pink.

Drain beef, then return to skillet with the cooked vegetables, pizza sauce, flour, and parmesan. Stir until combined. Cook on medium low for a few minutes until warmed through.

To assemble the stromboli:

On the bottom half of the prepared dough, line half of the pepperoni evenly in a few rows.

Next, spread half of the mozzarella cheese evenly along the pepperoni.

Spread the meat mixture all over the mozzarella cheese, followed with the remaining mozzarella and pepperoni.

Now carefully fold the top of the dough over the filling, pinching the sides around until sealed. I used a fork to poke some holes in the top, but you could also make little slits with a knife. Mine did start to burst open a little bit, but that’s okay! Nothing oozed out and it was still amazing!
