What makes these air fryer wings perfect for game day?
Wings are a game day staple and have been for quite some time! In 1964, a place called “The Anchor Bar” dropped the first ever buffalo wing, which of course blew up! By the 70s, wings were a football fan favorite all over the world, and by the 80s they exploded in popularity even more – all thanks to Buffalo NY, bar culture, and televised football on the rise. Pretty neat, huh?
These air fryer wings are great for those games that you just can’t be missin’! The air fryer makes them easy and hassle free. Whether you’re hosting, going to a gathering, or just staying in for this one – I think we can all appreciate the ease of the air fryer. Plus, the flavor is super interesting and likely to wow all of your hungry game watchers.
Did you know?
Wings are often seen as a social food! They’re handheld, perfect for grazing, and super shareable! Paired with a million other appetizers, sauces, dips, and sides – wings are really just perfect for parties.
And while these wings are intriguing and fruity, they’re actually not half bad for you. Raspberries are loaded with fiber and antioxidants, and of course oranges are filled with vitamin C and aromatics. It’s just such a fun flavor combo!

How do I make them?
To prepare the ingredients:
To get started on this recipe, first wash and dry all of your veggies. Deseed and mince the jalapeño, thinly slice the chives, then juice and zest the orange.
Next, split the chicken wings at the joint, cutting them into flats and drumettes. Pat them very dry with paper toweling, then move them to a large mixing bowl.

Add all of the spices, the baking powder, and the oil to the bowl, then toss with your hands to combine.

Once the wings are thoroughly coated, preheat the air fryer to 400°F for a couple of minutes.
Air fry the wings for a while, working in batches, and using a tong to flip halfway through. Cover and refrigerate the remaining wings till ready to fry.

In the meantime, let’s preheat the oven to 200°F and line a large baking sheet with foil. Top with a baking rack, then once the first batch of wings are done, move those to the oven to keep warm while you air fry the rest.
Pro Tip: Grease the air fryer basket between batches – this prevents our crispy skin from sticking and peeling off.

To make the raspberry orange glaze:
In a saucepan over medium heat, add the raspberries, the jalapeño, garlic, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, orange juice and zest, Dijon mustard, red pepper flakes, cayenne, water, cornstarch, and butter.

Bring to a simmer, whisking occasionally, and simmering for a while until the glaze has become slightly thicker and sticky.
Push some of those raspberries with the back of a spoon to thicken the glaze even more, then remove from heat.
Pro Tip: The glaze will thicken even more as it stands!
To make the air fryer raspberry orange chicken wings:
Add all of the air fried chicken wings to a large mixing bowl, then to top with the glaze.

Use a tong to toss the wings thoroughly, then grease the air fryer basket again. Fry them again at 360°F for a few minutes, working in batches.
Pro Tip: This helps the glaze stick to the wings, it sets everything and thickens it too!
To serve:
Top air fryer raspberry orange chicken wings with fresh chives, orange zest, freshly cracked black pepper, and a dusting of cayenne pepper if you want additional spice. Enjoy!

Tips:
- These wings are still family friendly but if you’re worried about extra spice, just skip the cayenne dusting at serving.
- Making these for a BIG party? Just double the batch and keep those bad boys warm in the oven as you air fry them. This way, you’ll always have warm wings to serve. You can also keep the glaze warm on the warmer setting on the stove until you’re ready to toss them.
- No orange? Try making this with lime juice and zest. It’s just as amazing!
- These will keep for 3-4 days if stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. To reheat them, just air fry at 350°F for 3-4 minutes!
