Homemade Caesar Dressing

Homemade Caesar Dressing in a small glass dish on a wooden cutting board with a spoonful of it nearby

Last updated on January 13th, 2026

Ceasar salads are my absolute FAVORITE! This Homemade Caesar Dressing is phenomenal, and it takes little to no time at all to make! It was so fun making it too! You just toss everything into the bullet and blend. No chopping or anything needed really. I did chop up the anchovies and parsley just because I wanted to get a feel for how much it was going to be and to measure it all out properly. The anchovies are definitely a distinct flavor for this dressing, and you don’t want to overdo it! It felt like a salad dressing straight out of a restaurant! Yum!

Where does Caesar dressing come from?

This tasty dressing was created in 1924 by Caesar Cardini, an Italian man who decided to open a restaurant in Mexico! One busy 4th of July weekend, he made this dressing on a whim when he had to improvise a salad due to having minimal supplies in his commercial kitchen! That’s so cool!

Did you know?

The OG Caesar dressing didn’t have any anchovies in it! Cardini wasn’t a fan of them, so his version used Worcestershire instead! Anchovies were added later on because chefs wanted more of an umami punch!

What ingredients do I need to make this?

Mayo
Anchovies
Parmesan Cheese
Garlic
Egg
Lemon
Parsley
Worcestershire
Olive Oil
Dijon
Salt
Black Pepper

How do I make it?

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth!

Chill for several minutes before serving! Drizzle over a salad, dunk some breadsticks in it, add it to a wrap! Enjoy!

Tips:

  • Homemade Ceasar Dressing will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-5 days.
  • If you don’t want to use anchovies in this recipe, you could substitute with some Worcestershire or fish sauce!
