Homemade Italian Dressing

Homemade Italian Dressing in a dish with herbs and garlic next to it, on a table

Last updated on January 17th, 2026

I LOVE Italian dressing! This Homemade Italian Dressing is like Jimmy John’s meets Olive Garden Italian flavor! It’s garlicky, zesty, acidic – you get that vinegar punch! It’s the perfect balance of flavors. So tasty! This dressing would go amazing on a salad, sandwich, wrap – there’s so much opportunity! I used to work at Olive Garden when I was in my college days, and we would literally sit there and just eat the breadsticks with the dressing on our breaks! I’m always craving it, so we usually have a bottle of it in our fridge. Knowing I can whip this up with pretty much everything we always have on hand was a complete game changer!

Why make your own salad dressing?

When you make your own dressing, you can control everything that goes in it! The oil used, salt and sugar content, free from artificial ingredients and more! It’s also usually more cost effective, more flavorful and vibrant, AND it’s better for the planet! So why not make your own? It also tastes SO good and it’s pretty darn easy!

What ingredients do I need to make this?

Garlic
White Wine Vinegar
Parmesan
Olive Oil
Parsley
Lemon
Dijon
Paprika
Oregano
Salt
Onion Powder
Red Pepper Flakes
Black Pepper

How do I make it?

Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. You want it to have a little thickness to it so, don’t over blend!

Tips:

  • Homemade Italian Dressing is good for about 2 weeks if kept refrigerated in an airtight container.
  • If dressing appears runny, add a little more parsley. If too thick, thin it out with a touch more olive oil or Dijon – or you can blend a little more.
