Berry Margarita

Berry Margarita with a lime and strawberry garnish on a table

Last updated on January 15th, 2026

Summer is coming, the days are getting warmer, longer, sunnier! Which calls for…COCKTAILS! This Berry Margarita was so delicious! You really get the flavors from the strawberry, the blueberry, and there’s a surprising punch of lime in there! It wasn’t too strong, so it was easy to drink! Almost too easy! The good news is after having two of these, it definitely took the edge off! Ha! These were so refreshing and easy to make! This recipe makes a big pitcher so you can share with all your friends!

When was the first margarita created?

The very first written reference to a margarita was in 1936, when a drink called “Tequila Daisy” was featured in a newspaper article! This drink had the same ingredients as a marg, and actually the word “margarita” is Spanish for daisy! Pretty neat!

What ingredients do I need to make this berry margarita?

For the simple syrup:

Water
Sugar

For the margarita:

Tequila
Ice
Simple Syrup
Strawberries
Blueberries
Limes

How do I make it?

To make the simple syrup:

To make the simple syrup, add water and sugar to a small saucepan on medium heat. Heat for 5-10 minutes stirring continuously until sugar is dissolved. Set aside to cool completely.

To make the berry margarita:

In a large blender, blend all margarita ingredients besides tequila with the cooled simple syrup. Take your time and pulse the blender to get a feel for the consistency. When the large chunks are gone, pour in tequila and blend until combined.

Serve immediately with a salted/sugared rimmed glass, strawberries, blueberries, and a lime wedge for garnish! Enjoy!

Tips:

  • It’s best to use a high-quality tequila like Patrรณn, Don Julio, or 1800 Tequilla!
  • This batch makes about 6 regular sized drinks
  • Store unused Berry Margarita in the refrigerator or freezer in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
