Boozy Blackberry Cubes
Last updated on October 4th, 2025
You know that moment when it’s a hot day and you’re loading up your drinks with ice cubes…but they all keep melting and watering your drink down! Even the most heavy-duty Bubba Kegs and Stanley Cups can’t beat…science? Say goodbye to watery, gross cocktails this summer! These Boozy Blackberry Cubes are simple to make and taste good with just about any chaser! You could use a flavored seltzer water, a Sprite, a lemonade! You really get the flavors from the blackberry, lime, and of course – the RUM!

Where did the idea to make ice cubes boozy come from?
In the early 2000’s bartenders started making ice cubes with liquor and creating these in all different shapes and sizes! It was a way for them to innovate and show their creativity behind the bar as part of the craft cocktail revival. These bartenders wanted ice that didn’t dilute their drinks, but instead, enhanced them! Japanese bartenders were especially creative and influential in this area, as they were known for carving the most delicate ice spheres! This idea likely stemmed from the broader trend of frozen alcoholic drinks like boozy slushies and popsicles!
What do I need for these Boozy Blackberry Cubes?
Rum
Ice
Blackberries
Lime
How do I make them?
Add all ingredients to a blender or bullet and mix until combined! Pour into ice cube trays and wait an hour or overnight! When they melt, they get have a slushie type texture which makes for a delicious cocktail!
Tips for these boozy cubes:
These Boozy Blackberry Cubes are STRONG! So, I wouldn’t recommend mixing them with more alcohol. Instead try about 4-5 of them with pineapple juice, fruit punch, or soda! You could also probably do this with any juicy fruits for a similar outcome! Please remember to drink water and drink responsibly! Happy Summer! ๐

I don’t drink anymore, but I could definitely use this recipe for mocktails! I hate watery drinks too.
That would be really good, like some fruit water!
