Chunky Homemade Salsa

Chunky homemade salsa in a green bowl with a spoon sticking out of it and some chips scattered around

Last updated on January 10th, 2026

When the weather is warm…it can only mean one thing! It’s time to start eating ALL the fresh ingredients right from the garden! This Homemade Salsa was unbelievably flavorful, and a chunky salsa at that?! YUM! My favorite kind! The flavors from the lime, the zest, the tomato, garlic, the RED onion, jalapeño! I mean this salsa boasted some serious freshness! I love it when the flavor just punches you in the face! This salsa definitely lived up to the challenge, because it was a total flavor punch! My husband and I couldn’t stop eating it! It is definitely spicy, but we are big fans of that! The forehead sweat, nose starts running a little bit – the type of hot where you’re doing that “hhuuahhh hoooo” sound? Yeah, we love that.

Did you know?

Fresh salsa is not only a major flavor bomb, it’s also PACKED with vitamin C! Thanks to the lime, tomato, bell pepper, and lemon – just one serving is over half of your daily need! It’s also extremely low in the calorie department, so enjoy the guilt free snacking!

What do I need to make Chunky Homemade Salsa?

Tomato
Green Bell Pepper
Yellow Bell Pepper
Red Onion
Cilantro
Jalapeño
Garlic
Lime
Lemon
Vinegar
Salt
Granulated Sugar
Cumin
Black Pepper
Garlic Powder

How do I make it?

Wash and prep all of your veggies! Dice your onions, tomatoes, and peppers. Mince the garlic and cilantro. Juice and zest the lemon and limes.

Add all ingredients to a large bowl, stir well to combine. For best results, refrigerate your chunky homemade salsa for several minutes before eating. This helps those flavors to marry together!

Enjoy!
