Why these garlic bread pizzas are such an easy snack for the kids!
With very minimal steps and ingredients needed, these pizzas offer protein, fiber, and calcium – with a ton of flavor! These are fun to make with the kids too. I love getting my boys involved in the kitchen and studies show they are more willing to eat things that they helped create. My kids love helping me prep veggies, sprinkle on cheese, and watching as things are bubbling and baking in the oven!
Serve a few to keep them satisfied before dinner or make these the main event! These would also be great for a late-night snack for the parents or even a quick lunch for those working from home.
Did you know?
Research suggests that melted cheese + warm carbs trigger the brain’s reward center. So yeah, pizza actually makes us really happy!
Carbs = quick energy for busy little bodies! I mean, have you ever looked at your child and wondered where in the world they are getting this energy from? You’re not alone. They really burn through their energy, which is why they seem to always be hungry!
And plus, I feel like all kids LOVE pizza. I mean, what’s not to love? It’s endlessly customizable, typically associated as something safe and familiar to eat, and that cheese pull? It’s even fun for the grownups!

- Large Baking Sheet
- Measuring Cups and Spoons
- Cutting Board
- Chef Knife
- Cheese Grater
- Spatula
How do I make them?
To prep the ingredients:
To get started on this recipe, first preheat the oven to 425 F. Get out a large baking sheet, then wash and dry your veggies.
Thinly slice the Roma tomato, peel and thinly slice the onion, mince up the parsley, then shred the parmesan cheese.
To make the garlic bread pizzas:
In a small dish, melt the butter. Next, add the slices of bread to the baking sheet.
Pro Tip: Skip the foil here. We really want these to get crispy!
Using a silicone brush, brush the melted butter on the bread, then evenly distribute half the garlic powder among them. Flip and repeat on the other side of each piece.
Bake for a few minutes, then remove from the oven and flip with a spatula.
Using the back of a spoon, smear the pizza sauce on all slices. Next, evenly distribute the Italian seasoning and parmesan cheese.

Add the onion, pepperoni, banana peppers, and tomatoes, then top with the shredded Colby Jack cheese.

Bake a few minutes more, until the cheese has melted and the garlic bread pizzas appear crispy and golden on the crust.
To serve:
Garnish with fresh parsley, freshly cracked black pepper, red pepper flakes, and salt. Slice in half diagonally for the full pizza vibe!

Add a side of ranch dressing and serve. Just like that, you’ve got a tasty, easy snack for kids! Enjoy.

Tips:
- No Colby Jack? Use whatever shredded cheese you have on hand.
- You can also swap the veggies for whatever you have or think you would like better. Add some sliced mushroom, spinach, cooked and crumbled sausage, chopped chicken, black olives, green peppers – I mean, anything goes!
- Set up a little pizza bar and let the kids pick their toppings! They love making their own choices.
- No pizza sauce? You can just use tomato sauce instead. Just add a touch more Italian seasoning and salt for flavor. You could also use alfredo sauce if you like white pizza.
