Garlic Sausage Alfredo
Last updated on December 28th, 2025
Alfredo is my ultimate guilty pleasure! Everyone knows that feeling, when you’ve just eaten a bunch of rich, yummy food and you want to beeline to your sweatpants drawer. This garlic sausage alfredo is a bit healthier than the classic alfredo, but it still tastes amazing! And it’s ready in about 30 minutes!

Did you know?
The OG alfredo was created by a restaurant owner named Alfredo who was looking for a solution for his wife who had no appetite after the birth of their child. She loved it so much, he decided to put it on the menu at his restaurant in Rome!
What ingredients do I need to make this?
Smoked Beef Sausage
Fettuccine
Parmesan
Garlic
Cream Cheese
Parsley
Butter
Salt
Black Pepper
How do I make it?
Cook pasta to package instructions, reserving some pasta water. Drain and set aside until ready to use. In a large, deep skillet, melt butter on medium heat. Add sausage to pan and cook until browned nicely. I like to use a tong for this, flipping each one to brown them on both sides. Add garlic to pan and cook until fragrant. Now add half and half, turn heat to medium-low, and bring to a simmer. Next add the cream cheese and mix until melted. Stir in salt, pepper, some parsley, and parmesan. Mix well until melted completely, cooking a few minutes more.
Fold in cooked pasta, remove from heat. The pasta will thicken as it stands. If you want to thin out the cream sauce, slowly add in your reserved pasta water to get to your desired consistency. I like my alfredo really thick, so I just added a splash!
Serve Garlic Sausage Alfredo hot with remaining parsley and additional parmesan. You can also serve with a breadstick, side salad, whatever you like! Enjoy!
Tips:
- It’s important to grate your own cheese otherwise the sauce could end up grainy! There’s an ingredient in pre-grated and pre-shredded cheese that stops it from sticking together. As a result, it doesn’t allow it to melt properly
- When reheating this alfredo, just add a splash of milk to help cream it back up!
- Customize this any way you want! Add some mushroom, onions, shrimp – whatever you like!
- This will keep for 3-5 days if stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
